活动时间:3:40----5:10
活动地点:校园内实验楼前、学校门口文化墙前、办公楼前草坪
活动目的:在天气晴朗的下午,带领学生沐浴阳光的同时,感受用英语对话的轻松快乐。学生长期被束缚在教室里,感觉很紧张,对于知识的接受处于低水平,适时让学生在室外活动,体会自然状态下说英语,不要受场地的局限,在真实的情境下使用英语对话,无疑是个明智的做法。

Topic 1: Photos
Teach the students how to ask others to help take photos in English. Have them feel the process.
Sentence Pattern: Excuse me? Could you please take a photo for me? / Would you please take a photo for me?
Practise the sentence in groups.
We took a lot of photos for memory. ∩__∩
Topic 2: Weather
Teach the students the sentence pattern:
What’s the weather like today? / How is the weather today? / What do you think of the weather today?
It’s fine. / It’s sunny.
What’s the temperature today?
What a hot day, isn’t it?
Example:
Tom: Nice day today, isn’t it?
Kelly: Yes, it’s beautiful weather we’re having.
Tom: We can’t complain about the weather recently.
Kelly: Yes, the sun shines day after day. It’s neither too hot nor too cold.
Tom: I wonder how long this weather can last.
Kelly: I hope it will stay fine tomorrow. I’m going to have a picnic with my family.
Have the students practise the dialogue.
Topic 3: Greetings
Common sentences:
How is your study? / How is your teacher? / How is you day at school? / How have you been recently? / How are you doing?
Pretty good. / Not too bad. / Just so-so. / I’m doing well. / Everything is Ok.
What’s your favorite food?
What sports do you like best?
Do you like learning English?
What’s your hobby?
Do you like singing? What songs do you like best? Could you sing it before us?
Topic 4: Direct and Indirect Communication
Attention: Make sure you speak English naturally. You may make mistakes, but that’s nothing. Don’t worry. Take it easy! Don’t be shy and be brave. Say a sentence as long as possible. Say a bit more. Come on!
1. Do you feel that you are a direct communicator or an indirect communicator? Give an example.
2. Who do you feel you can communicate directly with and who do you feel you should communicate indirectly with?
3. In the following situations, is direct communication or indirect communication more effective? Why?
(a). Asking a favor.
(b). Breaking up with a boyfriend / girlfriend.
(c). Telling your teacher you didn’t do your homework.
(d). Firing an employee.
4. Have you ever had a bad experience in which someone said something to you too directly?
5. If someone is communicating with you indirectly and you don’t understand the message they are trying to tell you, how do you deal with the situation?
活动小结:
本次活动极大地调动了学生学习的积极性,良好的校园环境也是激发学生学习的重要因素。通过本次活动学生们享受到学习英语的轻松快乐,也为他们今后的语言学习奠定了坚实的基础。在活动过程中,学生们积极配合,主动开口说英语,学习氛围浓厚,其效果也是非常明显的。
